EU Trademarks

An EU trademark is valid in all countries which are members of the EU, excluding EEA countries.

Anyone living in Norway and companies with their headquarters in Norway can submit an application for an EU trademark to the trademark authority, OHIM (the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market).

It is a requirement of the process that you are represented by an agent who has the right to assist clients within the EU. The agent must also have authorisation from the OHIM in order to represent trademark applicants. It is recommended that you use an agent for the entire process, including submission.

Please contact us if you are considering applying for an EU trademark. We can assist you with the application process and put you in contact with an agent with authorisation from OHIM.

OHIM may also be appointed through the Madrid Protocol. A special representative is not required when acquiring an EU registered trademark.
