Norway is a member of the Madrid Protocol. Individuals or companies may apply for registration in other member states. It is both easier and cheaper to submit a single international application through the Madrid Protocol than it is to apply in each country separately.
If you already have a Madrid Protocol registration, it will be possible to extend this to include new member countries at a later date.
Is there a charge to apply for registration through the Madrid Protocol?
The patent office requires a setup fee of NOK 550.
Because the fee for each country/organisation varies, the total cost will depend upon the number of countries/organisations
and in which country/organisation you wish to be registered.
How do you apply for a trademark registration through the Madrid Protocol?
An application for international registration of a trademark must be based upon an application or registration in Norway. The application must be in the form of a Madrid application.
We can assist with the registration. Contact us, or fill in the form here, and we will contact you.
